Our Practices

Hydroponic Farming

Hydroponics is a method of growing plants without soil, instead using mineral nutrient solutions in water in a controlled indoor growing environment. Our hydroponic farm is based inside a cargo truck container. This system optimizes growth using vertical towers, powerful LED lighting, smart watering techniques, and health-boosting nutrients.

Advantages over traditional farming include greater control over the quality and quantity of water used, improved access to nutrients, reduced risk of pests and disease, and faster growth times. These sustainable farming practices allow for year-round farming with minimal environmental impact.

Community Supported Agriculture

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. The theory behind a CSA is to get your food from someone you know and trust, know the land your food is grown on, and the techniques used to grow your food. By being a part of a CSA, you are showing your support and benefiting from a system that returns people to a sustainable model of eating. You will also be giving yourself and your family the freshest and most nutritious food, grown in the most responsible and caring way.

In a traditional CSA, you pay upfront for a season's worth of produce, committing without guaranteed results. If it's a good year on the farm, you may get more than you paid for; if it's a poor growing year, you wind up with less.

As a hydroponic farm, we grow what we choose when we choose without any seasonal weather constraints. Therefore, our founders decided to buck the traditional CSA model. We don't require annual or quarterly pre-payment. CSA subscription boxes can be paused or cancelled weekly.

Sustainability & outreach

Our overall environmental impact and carbon footprint are reduced because we grow and deliver efficiently without pesticides or herbicides. By recapturing moisture from the air, Bonverts can operate using 96% less water than traditional farms.

We have a strict chain of custody and use sterile techniques to ensure food safety. The weather does not impact us, so there is no need to obtain crops from miles away or outside the U.S. Customers receive our greens, herbs, vegetables, and edible flowers within 24 hours of harvest.

Stewardship and nutritional education are core tenets of Bonverts, which is why we partner with Denver Public Schools to facilitate internships throughout the year.
